SHARON SPRINGS FREE Library: The Sharon Springs Free Library has a vacancy on its Board of Trustees. The Baord meets the fourth Thursday of every month at the library, and is open to the public. Anyone interested in being considered to become a Trustee of the Library is encouraged to attend a meeting and see what we are all about. The library has a large display of travel books and ideal for what to do in summer as well as brochures from local attractions. Each fourth Thursday from 6:30-8:00pm, the library hosts an informal gathering for stamp lovers of all ages. Each Thursday from 12:30-2:30pm, the library hosts the Creative Textile Fibers Group. Each Thursday from 3-5pm, the library hosts the Writers of Fort Plain. MIDDLEBURGH LIBRARY: 6/19, 7:00pm. Book Discussion. "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry" by Fredrik Backman, author of "A Man Called Ove". Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is seventy-seven years old and crazy. As in standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-strangers crazy. She is also Elsa’s best, and only, friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother’s stories, in the Land-of-Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal. This book discussion will be facilitated by Susan Oringal. This program series is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
